Wokeness, Wokeness, everywhere and not a drop to drink. 

I sincerely enjoyed my time working in television and liked most, if not all, of the people I worked with. There was always a good team atmosphere and the work itself was always conducted efficiently. However, I found the execution of TV business on the whole, close to repugnant if not borderline dysfunctional... always managing to skirt morality by the thinnest of margins. There is always an 'air of aloof' around most broadcasting establishments but it was never the snobbishness that made me twinge, I found that amusing. As with politics, the biggest problem(s) I witnessed revolved around ego, hierarchy, nepotism and power.

Watching friends stab one another in the back daily to get ahead was an incomprehensible, common occurrence that I quickly grew both tired of, and astounded at... dog eat dog, given real meaning. I never witnessed this happening during my military career; although I'm sure it does occur infrequently. The British military have fashioned a 'team work' environment unto it's own; way above others. The dog eat dog mentality in TV was mostly, if not exclusively, apparent amongst journalists in particular... and was acceptable behaviour, deemed 'ruthless honesty in the name of free speech'.

A smattering of established television 'profession-bullies', allied by a mute pecking order due to grand-fathering or nepotism, was always prevalent. There was often an intern, runner or trainee at your heal; often connected 'upstairs' through their family... The necessity to monitor your mouth and look over your shoulder is imperative; the ability to watch ones own back was an essential survival technique for most, but thankfully not for me. I genuinely didn't (don't) give a care for who people are; which served me well. I actually won employee of the year once ... just once.

My role at ITV was in the post production and transmission of live television broadcasts and news. I worked in a multi-faceted role that encompassed most technical disciplines involved with live and studio broadcasting... everything behind and including the camera. I did eventually progress to Produce and Direct pilot TV programs that were never broadcast. I am not a trained journalist, I am an aerospace engineer that worked with journalists day in, day out …and it actually wasn't bad, I liked it... which now worries me; was I, them :o)

 I now live my retired life online and have done so for over 20 years; I've consumed media content like Johnny 5. Apologies for the video, I just had to :o)

I became a dinosaur when I stopped playing football... a long time ago; I just had to give up! As a Gen X' er with no children, I appreciate how very different millennials are and can relate fully to Bill Maher... I presume this is very similar to how my generation were with the baby boomers (?) Ageing can be odd to comprehend but life and living become very, psy- -cyclic, when you have the time and experience to figure out the structural logic to which we all abide (habitually). This can only come with age which millennials do not have much of. We all know times change, but logic is, or was, always logical... however, nowadays it seems the common concept of logic is changing too, unnoticed, lost in time and to cancel culture.

Today... 'cancel culture' is being utilised by many social media and woke media pundits to irradiate all forms of coherent objection to their pre-formed narrative. This being expedited by those working to perpetuate that narrative... or put simply: they are removing abstract opinion and objection from history, right in front of us in real time. This process illogically removes all counter arguments and claims against contradictory narratives on the assumption that their version is the only correct one... akin to a religion. Wokism is an attempt at changing the future by amending the past, in the present.
Study causality; it may help explain this further. Playing along with a narrative can make it happen in real life; I could quote The Revelations as an example...

Playing into any narrative culminates in a predicable end for those that created it… this illustrates 'control' over those involved within it. Historically we all blindly play along with the mainstream narrative, more often unbeknownst of the consequences. An explicatory example is below however, feel free to research the Mandella affect (video below) if you're interested.

In their attempt to be politically correct, the cancel culture-ists have become an enforced, indirect form of fascism by engineering the re-writing of history in real time and removing objection to their narrative... does this sound familiar? It should, because it has happened before, again and again... 1939 being the prime example.

British and American Millennials in particular, have lived their entire lives umbilically attached to one screen or another; by our old standards... somewhat brainwashed; just like the 'telly' did to us! Long gone has the window in place of a game consul and screen, but I have to question whether it took day-dreaming with it or more likely, have dreams changed? Millennials are different, it's expected but are these differences highly questionable under scrutiny, due to them living in the times of the Mandella affect...  their founding beliefs and values are not based upon genuine historical facts, known to be forthright from knowledge and experience... or I could just be an old Grinch...

If Cancel culture continues to run rife it's easy to see where this will end up …it is a future holocaust denial in waiting. Those who commit atrocities become entitled to write the history surrounding it. It is not just that this is dangerous, it's the fact that nobody, at all, is seeing exactly how dangerous it is...least of all the millennials that are often creating false narratives.

The pandemic is throwing new light on logical reasoning, with the biggest problem appearing to be the usual suspects: ignorance and ego. It's not bad to not know something... but today everybody seems to be a reborn viral genealogist and climate scientist. People don't want to appear stupid; my generation became rocket scientists in the belief this was clever, today it's all gone quantum. This IS what stupid is...blindly following something for nothing other than credibility.

In the end, it will all revert to the nature/nurture hypothesis, regardless of time and circumstances; it always does. Nurture makes you what you are... nature determines how good you are at it!

The pandemic appears to be bringing out the worst in many, it has been interesting to watch the media's coverage of it... from afar and minimally affected in my sanctuary. It appears that during the coverage the new 'woke media' have uncovered the same old set of institutionalised media dinosaurs pitching their own personalised form of rebranded narrated news under the guise 'freedom of speech' or 'woke media' Podcast... mostly opinion based on questionable data. Journalists know their time in mainstream media is a short lived; dead man's boots, a closed shop job with newspapers all but dead. This is why journalists like 'Martin Bashir' and Piers Morgan push ethical boundaries to the limit and they're all at it... like athletes and performance enhancers.

 After preaching freedom of speech monologues, most of these new woke media moguls hypocritically do the exact opposite of what they evangelize … sound familiar? Same ol' same ol' … here we go again story. But first, let's ascertain the legitimate function of The News – The Media... as it 'should be' and not how 'it is'. All News  should relay verified, factual truths to the public and not offer opinion... particularly if it's an uneducated or uninformed one. Opinion is entertainment and should be deemed as such, just like this article... and Fox News.

The BBC have taken a lot of flack recently but still remain the most trusted news source in the world … based upon some of the new woke media content, I fully understand why. I like to debunk conspiracy theories; it's a hobby. As an aerospace engineer, I like to keep ahead of what is and isn't possible in reality, then debate whether 'they wouldn't do that'. However, I always try to cross refer claimed facts on social media utilising a cross section of mainstream references: BBC, Rueters, Aljazeera, RT, Fox and CNN then I 'Google' before moving onto comedians and political satirists who usually do a better job: Russel Brand, John Oliver, Trevor Noah, Bill Maher, Joe Rogan and the God Father George Carlin, amongst others… all branded as entertainment but offering a better brand of truth.

I have recently been following several new woke media channels... DDN; Novara and ByLine are good examples, there are others. I do like a lot of their content even if it is often inflammatory opinion … However, all of which edit and remove any form of commented criticism or objective reasoning that does not fit with the narrative they are adopting. If you don't believe me, try it yourself and see... comments are removed with frequency if they present a good objective opinion, informed or not. The new woke media has become the new Spaghetti Western where most have evolved into shameless hacks, firing blanks... worse than the mainstream media that needed replacing.

This, by 'the new normal' woke media that are actively peddling it... or more likely the same old media dinosaurs flogging their rebranded new media bullshit?

6 moguls autocratically control all that we witness on mainstream media, this is not healthy... but the new woke social media have become arguably worse... so, it's back to the trusty BBC where at least facts are verified before being discounted, even if they do discount all the good news that's worth hearing. Where are the Aliens BBC? The mainstream media, and many of these new off shoots, are controlled by this same small clique of media moguls. The media cannot and will not learn because they know no different; institutionalised is the term... and we all are, in one way or another. We need facts, not opinion and open debate surrounding the facts as they are presented, no media coverage, mainstream nor social seem to be taking this on board fully... they're all playing to their own narrative. A visibly flawed dichotomy that has become the new normal; one in which authoritarian control is normal...by an invisible hand.
